Leadership Skills: Supervising Union Employees
May 16 - May 17, 2023 2200 Harvard Street, Sacramento, CA, USA
This is an optional course in the Leadership Skills Series Certificate Program. The MARC Union-Labor Relations program increases the skills and confidence of frontline supervisors to serve as management's frontline representatives in dealing with employees, stewards, and officers of the union. Additionally, top-level managers are trained to delegate and support frontline supervisors. The MARC program provides a well-organized format to produce uniform interpretation of the contract, rules, and policies, which reduces inconsistencies in dealing with employees. It also ensures that union procedures with proper documentation are consistently followed in handling grievances, providing job performance counseling, administering disciplinary action, and making job promotion decisions. This two-day course provides supervisors and managers with a set of tools that develops fair and consistent treatment of all employees.
Note: Please plan to leave this course with a binder of course material that measures approximately 12"x12" and 3" thick.
