Event
Substation Series: Transformer and Substation Diagnostic Testing
June 06 - June 07, 2023 9817 Northeast 54th Street, Vancouver, WA, USA
Performance of the test is one thing. What the measurements tell you about the apparatus is another. For any apparatus test, proper results analysis is the most important aspect. This two-day course will focus on transformer and substation equipment testing and diagnostic analysis, including general apparatus construction, test theory, test application and performance, and results analysis.
No one test will tell you everything you need to know about the condition of your apparatus, and for a variety of reasons you may not always be able to perform every test available. Understanding not only what each test can tell you, but also how individual results can be used to confirm or contradict the data of other tests will help you make that decision.
Through this course you will develop a better understanding of the purpose and interpretation of the following tests: dielectric testing; exciting current and loss testing; turns ratio testing; leakage reactance and loss testing; sweep frequency response analysis testing; and winding DC resistance testing.
